Tasks: Answer phones. Record requests and food bank deliveries. Make legible notes on client files. Provide community resource and referral information. Relay phone messages. Filing. If interested, some data entry.

Clients: Individuals under 65 with chronic illness and/or disability. Individuals and families with limited access to transportation. New and expectant mothers on the Food Bank Tiny Bundles program.

Time Commitment: Approximately 4 hours a week. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Minimum 3 month commitment preferred.

Location: Kelowna office.

Skills/Experience: Listening skills, clear written and oral communication skills. Computer or other office skills an asset but not a requirement.

Additional Requirements: Compassionate, non-judgemental, servant heart. Maintain confidentiality.

All volunteers are required to undergo an RCMP records check, and complete a 3 hour orientation session. Office volunteers receive additional training within the office.
